Sports Medals

Recognizing an athlete for their achievements at any level of sports is a tradition that dates back to the earliest Olympic Games, where some of the first medals were issued. The word athlete has roots in these early Olympic Games, and means “One who competes for a prize.”

Unlike traditional trophies, sports medals carry a value that is more personal to the athlete that receives it. Sports medals can be worn or displayed in more creative ways than a trophy which requires more space and can be awkward to display.
